Helen is a chartered environmentalist and works for Electricity North West as their Community Energy Manager where she is responsible for stakeholder engagement with community and local energy groups.
Helen has considerable experience of working with the low carbon and environmental sector having previously held roles within the low carbon sector team at the Business Growth Hub, as energy and environment sector development manager at the Northwest Regional Development Agency and as a manager of a team of renewable energy sector business advisors at Envirolink Northwest.
Helen has also worked at ENWORKS as Sustainable Growth Advisor for the Environmental Sustainability Technical Assistance (ESTA) project delivering advice to the Greater Manchester Local Enterprise Partnership and overseeing the delivery of a number of research projects. In 2014 Helen wrote the New Economy Working Paper “Powering Greater Manchester: how will we fuel our future?” which considers how Greater Manchester’s energy infrastructure can contribute towards the city region’s carbon emission reduction target.
Helen is a Director of the Manchester Climate Change Agency CIC and a member of the steering group. In this role she has been involved in developing the governance arrangements for the Agency and has previously overseen the re-fresh of the M:ACF action plan. Helen is also a mentor on the Uprising Environmental Leadership programme.
