Roger has been designing and delivering a wide range of international building and infrastructure projects for Arup for over 30 years. He has held a number of Board positions and global roles, including Global leader for the Civil Engineering, Site Development and Regeneration Practice and leading the Global Infrastructure Sustainability Executive across eleven practices. His particular interests and areas of expertise are cities, large-scale masterplanning, urban regeneration, sustainability and multi-disciplinary working. His work has taken him to Libya, Burma, Indonesia, China, Japan, Hong Kong, America, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Singapore and The Gulf. His professional qualifications include being a Fellow, Institution of Civil Engineers and a Fellow, Chartered Institute of Water & Environmental Management.
Outside of Arup, he holds a number of external roles, including Board member of the Greater Manchester Local Enterprise Partnership - with responsibility for Environment and Infrastructure; Board member of the recently formed GM Low Carbon Hub; Joint Chairman of the SURF Advisory Board and Visiting Professor at the University of Manchester.
