Is blue the new green?

Following last year's OUTBURST at the Lowry in Salford, and the recent Mersey Flow event at the Stockport Plaza Cafe, this year's Manchester and Pennine Waters Forum will be the unmissable event of 2014.

With contributions from Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Lancashire, there'll be something for everyone with an interest in our waterways, their sustainable future and the vital role of our canals and rivers in the community.

Our guests include canal laureate Jo Bell, CEO of Canal & River Trust Richard Parry and John Leyland of the Environment Agency. Get ready for updates on inspirational projects and initiatives!

The Forum will be held at the Mechanics Institute with registration from 9am to 9.30am. The day will culminate with lunch at 1.15pm followed by  an optional guided visit to the Rochdale Canal through the city centre - one of the most "challenging" stretches in England.

There will be opportunities for a very limited number of  short "soapboxes" - if you have something to report of real interest and would like to have your say, please email to tell us all about it.

Places are strictly limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis. To reserve your place, please click on the link here - the password is 'manchester'.

The forum partners are Manchester and Pennine Waterway Partnership (Canal & River Trust) and Healthy Waterways Trust.
