Ali works for three days a week as a business analyst for a software company and spends the rest of his time volunteering as a climate & energy campaigner with Manchester Friends of the Earth.

He currently chairs the Manchester: A Certain Future CO2 Monitoring Group, and is also Chair of The Carbon Literacy Trust and a community governor at Chorlton C of E Primary School.
