Ryan is a PhD candidate in the Department of Urban Studies & Planning at the University of Sheffield. He’s currently leading Realising Just Cities environment governance research project that investigates coproductive policy development in Greater Manchester. He is primarily interested in the process of local governance, urban resilience, and climate adaptation.
Ryan earned degrees from the University of Oregon, BS (2015), and the University of Amsterdam, MS (2017). He has also worked as a constituent affairs fellow for United States Senator Jeff Merkley and was a land use planning and air toxins policy fellow in the State of Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber’s Natural Resource Policy Office.
