Dr. Daniel Welch is a Research Associate at the Sustainable Consumption Institute, University of Manchester, where he is currently researching the role of institutional actors in food waste prevention. He was previously with the Sustainable Practices Research Group, in a communications role and synthesising the policy implications of the SPRG’s research. His doctoral thesis, in Sociology, analysed the commercial field of sustainability communications. From 2006-2011 he was a researcher and writer with the Ethical Consumer Research Association and 2008-2011 co-editor of Ethical Consumer magazine. He has also worked as a copywriter specialising in sustainability issues. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
