89.5 million tonnes of CO2 are produced by road travel per year, whereas e-bikes produce none. With data from the Department for Transport, a new infographic shows how thousands of kilograms of CO2 emissions can be saved by switching your daily commute from a car or public transport to an e-bike.

Manchester's Climate Change Call to Action

The 8th July saw the release of the 7th report on how the city is performing against its carbon emission reduction targets, and the annual Manchester Climate Change Conference 2019 at the University of Manchester. 

The conference looked at the progress the city is already making towards these targets, and crucially helped the evening’s delegates answer the questions – are we on track to meet the zero carbon 2038 target, what next for the city, and what can I do?

With effects on health, education and employability, fuel poverty affects a growing number of people with a staggering 15% of households in the Broughton area of Salford classified as fuel poor [1]. Rebecca Long Bailey MP said:

‘‘One in ten households live in fuel poverty. An issue caused by rip-off prices, a broken energy system and a government that doesn’t want or care to make the real changes to our energy sector that will help customers.”
