The IGNITION project's innovative Living Lab has unveiled its first phase over at the University of Salford.

We know that green walls look beautiful, but their performance goes way beyond aesthetics. If urban planners, businesses, and local authorities can capitalise on this opportunity to utilise the vast surface area walls take up in our urban areas we could transform how the built environment functions.

During the coronavirus lockdown, the extent to which we all truly need green spaces to live happy and healthy lives was brought into stark clarity. As around 85%[1] of the UK population live in an urban area, the importance of understanding the benefits these urban green spaces bring is critical to making smart choices about how we invest in, build and maintain them.
