£56k green boost for precision components firm

An Oldham manufacturer is set to save more than £56,000 a year after installing an extensive rooftop solar panel system and energy efficient equipment at its factory.

Bradley Manufacturing produces springs, wire forms and pressed components - specialising in sheet metal fabrication and finishing services, including CNC manufacturing, laser cutting, punching, bending and forming, automated powder coating and sublimation printing.

With effects on health, education and employability, fuel poverty affects a growing number of people with a staggering 15% of households in the Broughton area of Salford classified as fuel poor [1]. Rebecca Long Bailey MP said:

‘‘One in ten households live in fuel poverty. An issue caused by rip-off prices, a broken energy system and a government that doesn’t want or care to make the real changes to our energy sector that will help customers.”

MESS (Marple, Mellor and Marple Bridge Energy Saving Strategy) originated nine years ago to promote energy saving measures. We've also ventured into 'Incredible Edible', set up a Community Orchard and recently campaigned on plastic waste.
